A Seminar will be conducted on the opening day of Version 2002. Topic? What else apart from the very theme of Version 2002, Convergence !!

	Conspirito “You have to mend it through your dexterity… Bug IT or change IT…” · Prelims consist of written paper to test C, C++ knowledge and debugging skills of participant. · Finalists are required to present a solution to a given problem. Particulars 1 member per team

Net Nagarik “The fate of a portal depends on you…” · Prelims contain a written test on Internet and web designing tools. · For the finals the participants will have to design a site on an idea given to them. Virtuoso “A intellect out of a bunch of X’pecialist” · The prelims consist of written test on the subject of choice. Choices will range in a set of specified fields like DBMS, OS, Data structures, Networking, OOAD, etc · The short-listed teams will be given a case study for the finals. Participation - One member per team

	Tech Hotch Potch “A bit of tech and a byte of fun…” · Consists of first round of written prelims than short-listed teams face the second round of ON-stage prelims. · The finals will have a mix of tech and fun and much more…. Participation - Three members per team

Impresario “IT kids escalating to knob IT…” · Prelims will be a written test on SAD, OOAD and software engineering concept. · For the finals the short-listed teams will be given a case study and they have to develop the system for that. Participation - Five members per team

Lord of the Rings "Center stage set for the hero of Version 2002 and some villains too. Be there.." Participants will be chosen from the among best overall. The chosen few will then sweat it out for the coveted crown.

	Sashay A bout of humour, fun, music n more. Something to cool off with!! Purely informal. For a change no marks for winning. The events for Sashay are......... Fashion kankaatchi A show totally prepared by RECT MCA dress designers. Prizes will be given to best male and female models. Duration : 1 hr Contestant Bien Choisis Each team is given 15 mins of performance time and 5 mins of backstage preparation time. The item can be anything like songs, choreography, fashion show, skits, etc. This event is not included in system analyst but prizes are waiting to be won!!! U must intimate us the programs that u want 2 present us by the 20th of August, 2002. The first 15 participant teams will be chosen on first come first serve basis. ENIGMA

“A move towards creating a ENIGMATIC machine…”

The Specifications for ENIGMA (software presentation):

Aim: To develop a game to be played against the computer. The game should end in a draw or the computer should win.

Game description:

· 5 tubes of equal size are joined together side by side in such a way that in every tube, a maximum of 4 equal sized marbles can come.

· A tube is closed at the bottom and open at the top.

· The player can drop a marble from the open side i.e. from the top.

· The two players (computer and the user) make moves alternatively.

· Both the player has equal number of marbles.

· The marbles are of two colors, one color for each player.

· The points will be awarded to the player as follows:

1) Sequence of 3 marbles earns 1 point.

2) Sequence of 4 marbles earns 2 point.

3) Sequence of 5 marbles earns 3 point.

For example:

When a marble is dropped to form a sequence of 4 marbles then the points awarded will be for 4 marbles and not for both 3 and 4.

· Sequence of marble is identified vertically, horizontally and diagonally.

· When you drop the marble in the tube it goes down to the lowest position (It means it doesn’t get stuck in between).

· The player having the maximum points will be the winner.

· The score for each player should be displayed dynamically.

The Best Software will be selected based on:

· User Interface

· Efficiency

· Documentation

· Readability

· Logic

· Originality of thought.

Participation - 2 members per team

Note: The softcopy of the S/W must reach us before or on 20th of August 2002 only through courier / Post only. All participants are requested to bring their presentations along with them. The finalists will be announced during Registration. The coordinator of version will not be responsible for any postal or courier delay.

Please Note :

Only one team is allowed for every college for every event.

The decision of the judges will be final.

The events on the final day will strectch upto 8:30pm. The outstation partcipants are requested to book their journey tickets accordingly.

It takes an hour to reach the Trichy Railway station or Bus stand from REC.
